In Feb 2023 I was able to complete my Certification as a Physician Executive.  I'm so thankful for my cohort leader and my cohort.  I learned many new skills that I look forward to using.

Today is ACOG's Maternal Health Awareness Day.  Today we ask why moms are dying.  The answer is multifactorial involving cardiac complications, infection, hemorrhage as well as implicit bias and racism.  It's important to know that many are preventable and that the dispariteis in race exist even after controlling for socioeconomic factors.  Lastly, Maternal Mortality Review Committees often are not reflective of the communities most impacted.  I support Black Mamas Matter Alliance in their call for that to change in the spirit of Nothing About Us Without Us.
